What does it train?
It works your working memory, the same skill you use to repeat a phone number you just heard or follow spoken directions. Because it pairs colors with sounds, you can remember with your eyes and ears at the same time.
Typical scores
Plenty of people get stuck around 5 to 7. Getting past 8 is good, and 12+ is excellent. The playback speeds up a little as the sequence grows.
Lasting longer
Try remembering positions or pitches instead of colors. Saying “top left, bottom right” to yourself or humming the notes like a tune helps a lot. The start of the sequence doesn’t change, so focus on the newest step.
