With spaces vs. without spaces
“With spaces” counts every space and line break as a character; “without spaces” ignores them. Check which rule your form or platform uses.
Why two byte counts?
In UTF-8, ASCII letters are 1 byte and most CJK characters are 3 bytes. Some legacy systems (SMS, older forms) count non-ASCII characters as 2 bytes, so both are shown.
