When it comes in handy
Use it to check a brand-new keyboard for duds, see which keys died after a coffee spill, or inspect a used laptop before you buy. If a key does not light up, or a single press looks like two, the switch under that key is the likely culprit.
What is key rollover?
Rollover is how many keys a keyboard can register at the same time. It matters in games where you hold movement keys while hitting abilities. Budget boards can drop inputs after 3 or 4 keys in some combinations, while gaming keyboards often handle 6 or more, or unlimited (NKRO).
Some keys never show up
Fn and many media keys are handled inside the keyboard and never reach the browser. The Windows key and some language keys can also be grabbed by the operating system first. That is normal and does not mean the key is broken.
